in the New Year and all, a successful, satisfied and healthy 2023. This is what the sports club Fortschritt Lunzenau wishes!

We in the sports club will indeed be able to capitalise on ‘SPORT TREIBEN’ this year. In addition to the well-known offers, with volleyball, badminton, floor ball, the number of our departments will most likely reach 15.

Extremely favourable and attractive framework conditions have been created in the recent past with ample – sometimes invisible – administrative work. With our numerous departmental and training managers, we have qualified staff, who should receive more support from the management of the association once all support measures have been completed, especially in the "everyday life of the association".

The tireless hard-working helpers ‘hold to the bar’ and, in addition to the always ‘same sports friends’, new ones were added. With its re-election and the associated increase in the number of members of the Executive Board, the Executive Board has ensured at least one thing: Continuity!

In fact, 2023 will continue in the same way:

As usual and as accustomed to this day! Just everything under the heading:

“To preserve what has been created and to use the opportunities efficiently!”

This wants to be organized, managed, controlled and communicated. This is exactly the challenge we will face this year, including:

establish new responsibilities,
further search for personnel,
Have more extensive conversations.

This is precisely what we need to do in order to counteract, among other things, the increased costs that are affecting us, and not just for energy. In addition, it is important to further consolidate and expand the structures with the now reached size of our association and to identify and solve problems associated with it at an early stage. For this we need each individual in the association, because only together we can cope with this and thus develop our association further.

Our calendar of events for 2023 is full and will soon be available on our homepage. But the darts tournament with mixed teams (one active and one non-active) is already a successful story. The number of participants had to be limited due to the many registrations. We are happy to pass on the praise for the idea, organization, implementation, even for this all-round successful event.

Thus began the new year as the old ended: With a sporting competition. At this point, we would like to congratulate the 2022 winners of our traditional club tournament in indoor football. Congratulations to the Schleisdorf team. With a wink, I promise: There is also the trophy. Thank you at this point to the sporting director of the tournament Andreas Haeder and the caring for the physical well-being of Andrea and Steve Ahnert.

If we look back again at this point, then three highlights from the month of December should be mentioned by name.

After 2 years of coronavirus forced break, we were finally able to hold our beloved and well-accepted club Christmas party in Room Cossen again in 2022. Even though the wave of illnesses that spread across the country in December did not make it possible for everyone who wanted to participate: With a good 130 visitors, delicious food from the partner from our sponsor network Hainich’s farm shop, with schnitzels roasted by parents, ‘Fettbemmen’ lubricated by board members and music from the ‘Sunshine’ discotheque, it was an entertaining event, the culmination of which was once again the honours of well-deserved and long-standing club members. Here, too, we promise to increase the supporting programme for this year's Christmas party, which will already take place on 09.12.2023. Here, too, it is important to say thank you to those working in the background, to the cutlery and plate washers and to the ‘Auf Raumrn nach’, namely, inter alia, Brigitte Großer. Thanks also to Jens Korte, who once again provided us with the rooms for this purpose.

Before the Christmas party, it was still time for us, thankfully and for the first time as a club with its own stand, to help design the Lunzenau Christmas Market. Here, too, there was a lot of organizational work to be done and additional staff to be recruited. A particular challenge, as our ‘Grillen für den Verein’ campaign at Kaufland Burgstädt was still running at the same time. This could also be mastered, our offers were widely accepted. What would we be without our ‘usual suspects’, without the often ‘same sports friends’ helping us? If additional ones are added, we are all the more pleased. Thanks to Talia Müllrich, Sophie Moderate, Michel Moderate and Tim Dombrowski.

After the Christmas party, we were also able to perform our big club Christmas singing for the first time, but just the 2nd, as Corona also did not allow this in 2021. This was a highly emotional, well attended and atmospheric event on the pre-Christmas day in our marquee in the stadium on Rochlitzer Straße. You can't be better prepared, singing together, for the Christmas days. This "crying" for repetition is therefore also firmly planned for 2023.

Especially the wind music from Lunzenau and the choir of the ‘Lunzenauer Montagsänger’ under the direction of Dietmar Irmscher contributed to the success of this evening. If the wind musicians have been guests at the sports club many times, we were able to win the choir for the first time. Christmas songs performed separately by the choir and the wind musicians, singing together loudly, although not always melodically correct (but with the help of printed brochures) made eyes sparkle, look forward to Christmas, a feeling of togetherness arise and a moment of pause in our hectic time. We are grateful for this and are really happy to have taken another step towards uniting the clubs in our city.

By fulfilling the betting promise of the ‘losers’ of the club summer festival, namely by Fritz Sterlemann and Alexander Putzschke, this beautiful evening could not only be rounded off with culinary delights. The Chili con Carne was very much in demand, tasted good and was good for the club's cash register with its sale. Special thanks to both of you for that. We look forward to the next betting opportunity!

Let's look to the future: the calendar is full again, the fan-Turkey trip at the beginning of March is planned as always, only this time to Egypt, the rental of a tent and a home for 2023 has only a few open dates and the outlook for the sports year was given at the beginning. Championships are to be played successfully, participation in them is to be achieved, trophies are to be won, podiums are to be sought, fitness is improved and maintained, the sense of belonging is to be strengthened. Above all, however, all and everyone, in ours, should feel even better in their club and well cared for.

We look forward to the sport year 2023, which can certainly rely on many beautiful moments, the situations of each other, mastering challenges not yet known today & problems and an always COMMON ‘Sport Free!’
