Regional Championships in Thum
Already on 02.07.2022 the regional championships took place in Thum. This time Sarah Wein, Lily Oriwol, Kim Meier and Benny Klauß participated. Kim Meier was the youngest again and started in the W11, both in the long jump and in the sprint. In both disciplines, there were very large starter fields with 30 athletes each, but Kim showed what she can do and reached the 21st in the sprint. Place. Unfortunately, the long jump didn't go so well for her, but that will certainly change again at the next competition.
Sarah and Lily both started in the W12. Unfortunately, the sprint, in which both took part, did not go so well, which meant that it was only enough for a placement in the rearmost starter field. Sarah also took part in the ball throw, where she could show her performance and at the end with a new best performance the 4. Place was taken. Lily took part in the hurdle race and the 800m race. The hurdle race she took part in for the first time didn't go so well, but with more practice, the performances will soon get better. At the 800m run Lily reached a good time and was able to set a new personal best.
Benny started in the M13 and took part in the discus, spear and long jump. Unfortunately, this time he could not show his best performance in the discus throw, but he managed to achieve a new personal best in both the spear and the long jump. In the long jump he even made it, with a width of 4.76m, to the 6. A total of 16 athletes.

5th Battle of Leipzig
On 09.07.2022 the city championships took place in the 5-battle in Leipzig. This time Kim Meier and Benny Klauß took part. Kim Meier showed good performances in this exhausting competition, in which you had to create 5 disciplines in one day. In the end, however, their overall result was unfortunately only enough for one of the lowest places in a strong starter field of a total of 25 athletes. Benny Klauß also showed very good performances and achieved 3 new bests. In the end, however, he had to close with the 4. Satisfying the place. In the end, he didn't even miss 50 points to the 3. Place.
ch would like to congratulate all athletes on their performances and wish them a nice competition-free time. On September 2nd we will continue with our 13th. Summer run in the Lunzenauer Park, to which EVERYONE is cordially invited.
