For our Paul Friedemann

Emotional, exciting football tournament in memory of our Paul Friedemann

On Saturday, 25 June 2022, our 1st event took place in our stadium on Rochlitzer Straße. The Paul Friedemann Memorial Tournament. A total of 6 clubs with 7 teams followed our invitation to the junior tournament of the E-Juniors/U11.

Our friends of the FSV Basdorf, which equaled 2 teams to the tournament, by far the furthest journey.

Furthermore, in addition to our own team, the teams of the Oderaner SC, SV Barkas Frankenberg 1984 e.V., SV Liebertwolkwitz e.V., FSV Limbach-Oberfrohna, SG Crafts Rabenstein part.

In a fair and exciting tournament, 69 goals were scored in a total of 28 games. The decision to win the tournament, in the Everyone vs Everyone mode, was made only in the last duel between FSV Limbach-Oberfrohna and SV Liebertwolkwitz. FSV Limbach-Oberfrohna was able to win the duel - and thus also the tournament victory - just 1-0. Without a goal, the deserved tournament victory was determined at the end with 19 points. In second and third place followed SV Liebertwolkwitz and FSV Basdorf I.

As part of the award ceremony, the best player and the best goalkeeper of the tournament were also honored. The trainers had chosen Anton Bruhn (FSV Basdorf I) as the best player and Richard Köhler (SpG Lunzenau/Göritzhain) as the best goalkeeper. Our referees Jürgen Meier, Leo Endmann, Lewis Baldauf and Andreas Haeder also received great thanks for their tournament management.

At the end of the tournament it was very emotional again. With words of remembrance, Andreas Rosin initiated the balloon action. A total of 170 balloons went to heaven as a sign to our Paul Friedemann. We will always keep you in our memories Paul!

It became very emotional on Saturday afternoon at the football small field tournament in the Lunzenauer Stadium when after the award ceremony Paul Friedemann was commemorated and after a minute of commemoration about 170 balloons ascended into the sky as a greeting to Paul. This marked the end of the commemorative tournament for the 15-year-old footballer of SV Fortschritt Lunzenau, who died in a fatal accident last February. The tournament that bears his name should become a tradition. All participants were very satisfied with the course of the e-youth tournament, there was a lot of applause for all eight teams from seven clubs for great and above all fair games. After 28 games, everyone played against everyone, the team from FSV Limbach-Oberfrohna was the winner before Liebertwolkwitz and SV Basdorf I. Medals as a reminder were not only for the winners but from the hands of Paul's father Uwe Friedemann for all participants, also for the referees. The president of SV Fortschritt Lunzenau Tommy Haeder was delighted that everyone experienced such a great, exciting and fair tournament.

A big thank you goes to all teams, the trainers, the hard-working helpers around our tournament. Without you, this would not have been such a successful event. Thank you very much!

We look forward to a new edition next year.
