Finally, there was again the opportunity to start with five of my athletes, from last year's newly founded athletics department, into the joint training camp of LG Mittweida. On 18 October 2021, another 13 athletes from the clubs VfA Rochlitzer Berg, LV Mittweida 09 and LWV Geringswalde went to Strausberg for five days. The training camp started with the arrival on Monday, which unfortunately I was not able to participate in until Tuesday for professional reasons. The first joint training session for the children and adolescents began on Monday evening. From Tuesday it really started. Till Thursday was trained twice a day for two hours each. The young athletes were partially ready and ready after the sweaty units. As a refreshment, there were three delicious meals daily. In addition to the training and meal times, there was of course also enough time for the athletes, who could shape themselves freely. We usually ended the evenings nicely by playing all the games in the lounge and thus strengthening the sense of community.

It was an exhausting but great time, which evoked beautiful memories in me. I already knew the training camp Strausberg from my earlier time as an active athlete in the sports club. Six years ago, I myself was still one of the athletes of the former Lunzenau athletics group in the training camp. This year I took part for the first time as a trainer in Strausberg in Brandenburg and was able to gain new and very nice experiences.

It was a huge honor for me to be able to ride as a trainer and it gave me a lot of pleasure. A big thank you goes to my athletes Gina and Benny Klauß, Sarah Wein, Josephine Lösch and Lily Oriwol and of course also to the parents who made this trip possible in the first place.

I am already looking forward to the next training camp (which is planned for Easter 2022) with you – maybe next time even more athletes from the club will come along.
