02.10.2021 12.30 Stadium at Rochlitzer Straße:
Topping-out ceremony for the multifunctional building of the SVFL
It should be one of the highlights in the calendar of events of our sports club.
It became one! And what one!
In addition to sponsors' regulars' table, summer, children's and youth sports festivals, department anniversaries, graduation ceremonies, summer run and Altherren tournament, the architectural moments for our multifunctional building from this year's club life are of course inconceivable.
At the groundbreaking ceremony due to the corona with only a few participants, at the laying of the foundation stone with subsequent public viewing, the topping-out ceremony should now become the special highlight in the club year 2021 for our members and the Lunzenauer. We had nice weather again this time. Probably deserved.
While the preparation work was in full swing, our e-juniors played successfully against Burgstädt. The three points stayed at home. Congratulations on that.
Thanks to the many hard-working helpers, the official act of the topping-out ceremony could begin at 12:45:
- Benches in the ‘gym part’ of the new building were set up;
- served on tables with white blankets of champagne,
- the microphone ‘ready to speak’;
- Cake was baked,
- the grill is already warm,
- the ‘kiosk staff’ are ready;
- Organize contact tracing.
So it could start. Impressive to see the crowd of participants. We were happy to create additional seating for our club members, sponsors and supporters, the executing construction companies and many people from Lunzenau at short notice.
Our club president Tommy Haeder opened this historic ceremony in the packed ‘room’, visibly welcoming the many participants and the representatives of regional politics. It's nice that the district administrator Matthias Damm and our mayor Ronny Hoffmann were able to arrange to be present. We know about the busy schedule.
Right at the beginning of his speech, the district councillor was not unaware of the honour he paid to our president almost 14 days ago with the ‘Sports Oscar 2021’. He stressed once again: ‘If I see it all this way, with Tommy Haeder at the top, that's more than deserved!’ At the same time, he was enthusiastic about the progress of construction and what is being done here in Lunzenau. Perhaps also "happy" about what we make of the financial resources we have. ‘Activities in volunteering and active association life are the putty of our society!’ was one of his apt sentences. As Sportverein Fortschritt Lunzenau, we are ‘well on the road’.
We are also well on the way to our multifunctional building. This was the main message of Ronny Hoffmann's speech. He deliberately compared it to a football match. “We are half-time and ahead! Now it is also necessary to make the second half successful in order to actually go off the pitch as the winner!" Now these were not immediately admonishing words, but he is right. It still requires a lot of effort and hours of work, the regular inflow of financial resources as planned and decided (and hopefully not too many additional!) and the mastery of challenges that we do not know today.
The head of the club showed himself ready for these challenges in his speech. The many guests at the topping-out ceremony, the many supporters and not least the ‘usual suspects’ who are constantly willing to contribute to the association made him look optimistically to the future. At the same time, the clubhouse must be completely rebuilt ‘next door’ and the Uwe Hoffmann grandstand erected. But let's review it again: ‘A vision at the end of 2018 and a topping-out ceremony in October 2021, that's what’, says Tommy Haeder.
I would like to repeat that the speeches were refreshing and entertaining. In the meantime, traditionally, I should and wanted to speak as a deputy. That was an honor to me. Here is my speech in full: ‘Goosebumps! Wow! Thank you!”
Then the historical moment of the judgment:
An employee of the mining company slk Bauunternehmen GmbH went on the scaffolding together with our presidents. He was dressed in traditional guild clothes of the carpenters. An impressive picture. After reading the motto, glasses were thrown to the ground in accordance with the requirements. The motto included thanks as well as the desire for successful completion of the construction, protection of the same and the users. In order to present and preserve it visibly for the ‘poster’, it was engraved on a plaque and handed over to our sports club. Thanks to Uwe Schuster.
Live in this house traditionally, the sporting spirit of the SVFL!
We will soon publish the full text on our homepage.
While the sparkling wine was still available and the numerous representatives of the media came to ‘shoot’ their photos, the first notes of the wind music from Lunzenau were already heard. In the short term, they could be won for musical framing.
Thanks to Ute Baumann for the quick commitment, the uncomplicated negotiation, the willingness to be present for half an hour longer and the idea of making appearances under our club's own marquee a tradition. We will be able to organize and implement this safely together. I am looking forward to next year. If, as a sports club, we still manage to unite the clubs in Lunzenau, this would be ‘the point on the i’.
Thanks to the wind music from Lunzenau. Thanks to the many listeners. With coffee and cake and certainly also a beer, our topping-out ceremony was celebrated worthy.
Thank you for the many words of praise. Thank you for the great willingness to donate. Thank you for the private sponsorship of the brass music performance.
Had I mentioned in the last issue in connection with our summer party finally the first away trip with our Fan Bus to Wiederau, I want to do this here also with our second away trip to Burgstädt. There are at least two reasons for this:
Thanks to Mathias Petzold for donating the travel costs to this day. Thank you to our ‘Erste’ for the 2-0 away win in the derby at the TV ‘Father Jahn’ Burgstädt. What a successful and successful sports weekend at the SVFL.
Sports are free!
