12. Lunzenau summer run
What a spectacle!
What a tradition!
What a great event!
There was something going on on 03.09.2021 in the Lunzenauer Heinrich-Heine-Park.
In fine weather, which the organisers and participants more than deserved, was traditionally able to do – and this on the 12th. This sporting event will be organised under the direction of the athletics department of our sports club.
Our Head of Athletics Vanessa Nagel can proudly report:
"With 52 active participants, the 3rd A new record of participants will be set in a row. This underlines the attractiveness and the high level of organization of this event! That is why I would also like to express my special thanks to Klaus-Peter Weiß and Michael Glöß, the guys from Doubleevents and Taktfabrik for the music, Mike and Verena Nagel and SAT cable for the sponsored trophies.”
The representatives of the board, the president of the association Tommy Haeder and his vice-president Andreas Rosin can only join in this thanks and add:

In addition, we are proud of the team performance of our association:
- Christiane Pönitz looked after the smallest and was happy to be available with her team for the photo session with the new sports jerseys sponsored by the Chamber of Crafts.
- Celine Veit was part of the start organisation team
- Footballers helped build and dismantle the course
- Sven Bothen organized the transport of the club's own seating
- our FSJ’ler Pascal Müllrich was on the road with a camera
- and last but not least, the winner's podium lovingly restored by Franziska Roscher and Danny Seidling was used for the first time
It's just fun and joy to be part of this community and of course we don't want to forget the sporting aspect:
52 participants, from 5 years to almost 60 years, representatives from Mittweida and Rochlitz and of course our sports club were able to read the joie de vivre on their faces. With what enthusiasm, what commitment, ambition and will to win was started, ran, fought and held by the highest respect. The greater the joy was then when medals hung around the neck, certificates were received and trophies could be stretched upwards.
This time I can tell you from my own experience.
Already standing in the goal as a representative of our fan department in the traditional club tournament, sweating in the rehab sport in the suit and demonstrating my ‘knipser skills’ on the Grünheider weekend trip of our ‘old men’, I took part in the summer run this time.
Let me just say this: ‘4000 m can have it in them!’ A 10-metre jump tower from below also does not look that high,
But stand up first! So 4 kilometers want to run first or run fast. And this still in the park over floor and stone.
However, the route was excellently marked and danger spots marked. My followers cheered me up, gave me courage and praised me while I was running. There were more and more supporters on the course of each round. And my laps felt longer and longer. At the finish line, which everyone else had already reached hours ago, the rhythmic applause of clapping supporters became more and more.
And there was another round to run. In this, I got running company. How pleasant! I kept up and didn't let myself be rounded out in the first round. Wow! I received a certificate and was declared the ‘winner of hearts’. Thank you very much! I have learned to appreciate the great preparation work. It just wants to be all done!
Everyone has now more than ever, whether as a performance or recreational athlete, whether on the plate, in the gym, while hiking, on the football field or just while running my respect and our respect.
So I am already looking forward to our planned table tennis and volleyball tournament.
