It has long been known that our departments are not only active in sports and do something good for their health, as well as strive for top performances, podiums and trophies, but can also celebrate.
In this context, we are happy to report on the end-of-season party of the table tennis department. Under the direction and organization of its head of department Jens Schindler, this took place on 24.07.2021.
The representative of the Executive Board participating at the beginning of the event has several reasons to report on this. For a long time a tradition in the department – could be organised on its own – this event was held in the stadium on Rochlitzer Straße. The good climate in this department could be seen from the lively participation alone. Since partners were also welcome, we can even speak of a family atmosphere.

The implementation on the newly created spectator terrace under the club's own marquee, which could also be purchased by representatives of the table tennis department thanks to the ‘barbecue participation’, also had a further positive effect.
We were able to personally see the progress of the new construction of our multifunctional building.
Under the expert guidance of Sven Mehner, board member, sports field manager and even table tennis player, I read on the faces:
- The building is indeed a reality!
- Our contribution, also financially makes sense!
- And ‘WOW’: You can actually put up more than 2 table tennis tables!

The ‘Grillmeister’ from our own ranks and the crew of our sales container also contributed to the success of the event. Thanks to Andrea Ahnert.
At the same time, it was possible to prove:
You can also celebrate on the sports field. Several requests for and the first family and school graduation celebrations already held underline this.
At this point, however, the most important thing should be emphasized:
Despite the Corona-related felt zero sporting activities in the past season, the graduation was dignified, the cohesion lived in the department, the number of members was kept constant and an optimistic outlook for the new sports year was given.
The table tennis department is a representative of our association.
