The ground-breaking ceremony for the multifunctional building took place in the presence of Minister Schmidt, the historic highlight of our sports club Fortschritt Lunzenau e.V. - from guest of honour to regular guest.

It was still March, but already April weather. Even if we weren't able to organize, plan, and set it: Just in time on 27.03.2021 at 10.00 o'clock the sun shone in blue sky!
But we, the board and the club members of the Sportverein Fortschritt Lunzenau have thought about, hoped for, planned and implemented the following.
In the summer of 2018 still vision it is now tangible: OUR MULTIFUNCTION BUILDING!
The symbolic groundbreaking ceremony took place on 27 March 2021 – in our living room in the stadium on Rochlitzer Straße. What a historic climax in the 71st century. Year of our association.

Our President Tommy Haeder welcomed the Saxon Minister of State for Regional Development Thomas Schmidt, our Mayor of the City of Lunzenau Ronny Hofmann and unfortunately only a few invited members of the association due to the coronavirus outbreak. The speeches of all three representatives were refreshingly short and yet content-heavy.
Tommy Haeder reviewed the career from the first idea to the mastering of hurdles with professional support to the act of groundbreaking, outlined once again the key financial data combined with the thanks to the Free State of Saxony, the city, our sponsors and not least to our club members and clearly expressed his joy over this moment in his presidency.
The Minister of State Thomas Schmidt himself described himself as a regular guest at the sports club in Lunzenau. He found this to be the first – visibly pleasurable – and, of course, justifiable. Being a guest on our sports field three times in six months already has something to do. With equal justification, he highlighted the financial contribution of the Free State of Saxony in the amount of approximately 550,000 euros. He is pleased with us that our project was secured and made possible in the first place in the difficult times of the pandemic by the funding commitment of the Free State of Saxony.
Mayor Ronny Hofmann spoke, also justifiably, of the positive share of the city administration and the city council. However, this was not only with regard to the support of EUR 250,000, which is by far not insignificant, but also with regard to the symbolic character: There's something going on in Lunzenau! Even when times are difficult for everyone.
All three speakers did not fail to address praise to the board and, above all, to thank the members of the association. During the obligatory photo session, we were able to see happy and smiling faces with due distance, as well as register happy club members. Representing this are the following: Siegfried Berthold, Axel Putzschke, Jens Schindler, Nicole Müllrich and Christiane Pönitz.
So it was not surprising that our original rock Uwe Hoffmann was a sought-after interview partner on this historic day. One like him stands personalized for our sports club: Even actively playing football, even being club president, erecting the equipment shed with his hands in the mid-1980s and now torn away to make room for something new – and thus our multifunctional building. In addition, he also celebrates 50 years of club membership in August! For this a big thank you Uwe!
Symbolism is one of the keywords for such a groundbreaking ceremony. Another one: STOLZ
Therefore, the author and Vice-President Andreas Rosin would like to add:
“I held the spade on behalf of our board. 6 laypersons volunteering with our ‘maker’ Tommy at the head of the project: I'm a board member and that makes me proud!
I held the spade on behalf of our club members, from Karl Heyl to Paul Friedemann. 400 sports enthusiasts in their free time carry out such a project: I'm a member of the club and that makes me proud!
I held the spade in place of the Lunzenauer. Over 4,000 residents see: Such a project can be done together. I am Lunzenauer and that makes me proud!”
We wish the construction of good and accident-free success. Let's hope to master the challenges ahead. For the laying of the foundation stone, we would like to have the opportunity to celebrate this with everyone.
Sports are free!
