Drinking may come together, the child punch must come to the children. Oh, now I have already revealed what the Christmas dumbbells have packed into the many small packages for children's athletes, table tennis players and young footballers, among others. How do the gifts come to the children?

Santa Claus, in his old age, belongs to the risk group and therefore could not come to Cossen for the children's Christmas party, nor distribute the gifts himself. For a Christmas party, despite the fact that almost all children are not yet 14 years old, it would have become somewhat difficult with the five people from a maximum of two households. Many small ‘mini’ meetings at the garden fence and at the front door (with mouth-nose covering and parcel arm spacing) were also not allowed if the sledge with its reindeer would have to travel more than 15 km on its way from the North Pole to Lunzenau and Penig.

So the practice weights and our packing weights had to go on site; Pack the gifts and distribute them to about 200 sporty children in Lunzenau and Penig. The correct delivery was not always easy, because some parents forgot to tell Santa's representative in the sports club their new address. But don't worry, the Christmas jerks brought all the gifts to the right girls and the right boys, because they had all stayed at home.

We are sure of one thing: Santa Claus could clearly see Lunzenau and Penig in his Christmas country, because the expectant children's eyes shone brighter than all the little stars in the sky.

We all wish for the year 2021, health; that we can resume our offers in a timely manner. Sport is healthy, art and culture inspire creativity, spirit and soul. May all associations with their diversity of projects and interests continue to enrich the coexistence of all citizens in our city in tolerance and acceptance in 2021.

This year, I would like to thank the presidents of our two sports clubs, who have finally brought the importance of child and youth work in our city into the focus of club work and the public, not least with our Christmas party campaign. If you want to shape the future of the city, you have to start with our children.
