Coronavirus pandemic:
Since 2 November, for the second time this year, the entire training and play operation in our sports club has been suspended. The reason for this is the Saxon Corona Protection Ordinance issued due to the coronavirus pandemic, which provides for drastic restrictions in recreational and amateur sports, among other things. Initially planned until November 30, but now no one believes in possible easing before the end of the year. However, we hope that after the lifting of these painful measures for all of us in the club, we will quickly return to the playing fields, the gyms and the open-air facilities with fresh momentum and maximum motivation. Until then, we all have to be patient, and above all we hope that you will remain loyal to our club in such an exceptional situation and that we will remain convinced members, friends and supporters.
Club Christmas parties / traditional club tournament:
Due to the current situation around the coronavirus pandemic, the club Christmas celebrations in the children's and adults' area planned for 18/19 December 2020 must also be cancelled or postponed. Our traditional club tournament must also be cancelled and postponed. As soon as it is foreseeable how the situation will develop in the coming weeks, we will inform you about any new dates.
‘Legal notes for associations’:
After last year’s successful premiere, the REWE ‘Scheine für Vereine’ campaign will once again take place this year. For every €15 purchase value, REWE customers receive a club ticket, which can then be assigned to our association. Depending on how many tickets our members, friends, fans collect until 31.01.2021, our club can then choose many different free rewards. The club tickets can be credited to our association via app or via the Rewe website. Alternatively, they can simply be thrown into our club mailbox. We look forward to your active support!
Construction works:
In recent weeks, two further construction projects have been completed in our stadium on Rochlitzer Straße. Thus, the quarry stone wall on our new spectator terrace could be completed by our sponsor, the company Baugeschäft Gebrüder Steyer.
Furthermore, the conversion of the basement rooms in the former sports home was completed in the first construction phase. With the completion, a storage room for the training materials and the team equipment was created for the football department. A big thank you goes to the volunteers who have implemented this project with countless working hours. We would like to name Uwe Hoffmann, Franziska Roscher, René Remus, Danny Seidling, Sven Mehner and Olaf Vogel.
In the coming year, if the requested funding is granted, the former sports centre will be further converted and expanded. Here, the disabled-friendly conversion is in the foreground. The cost of the construction phase will amount to 25-30 thousand euros.
New construction of the multifunctional building:
After we have been granted funding for the largest project in our 70-year association history by the Free State of Saxony, the district of Mittelsachsen and the city of Lunzenau, the demolition of the old workshop building is to begin this year. The cost of the multifunctional building amounts to EUR 1.1 million. Our association has to raise own funds of 223,000 euros. For this purpose, we have planned numerous actions in the coming weeks and months to ensure the financing of the project. For the first vote and coordination, numerous representatives of our association and the city of Lunzenau met for the kick-off meeting on 17.11.2020 in the Rathaussaal. Many open questions could be clarified and tasks could be distributed to volunteers. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Fritz Sterlemann, who has actively supported us along the way so far.
