Due to the coronavirus crisis, the play instinct of the Saxon Table Tennis Association had to be completely stopped in mid-March and finally aborted a few weeks later. So it is clear that our first team, without defeat in the games played to date, the first place in the 2. Kreisliga season 2 could fight. The team included Sven Mehner, Dietmar Albrecht, Rigo Misch and Ronny Kühn. Immanuel Brandl also played a large part in the good performance of the team, who always helped out successfully on a regular basis and thus also helped to keep the winning streak to the end.
Our 2nd. The team finished the aborted season in 1. Circle class season 2 in seventh place. The team as regular players included Immanuel Brandl, Frank Enghardt, Bernd Nienhold and Claus Morgner. They were supported by Olaf Fischer and Lucas Kühn if necessary.
The 3rd The team, in which Olaf Fischer, Lucas Kühn, Jürgen Härtig and Hans-Jürgen Misch were used, finished 10th and thus last place. They also played in 1. Circle class season 2. Whether the team has to go down or can remain in the squadron is not clear at this time.
The 4th The team won the 7th. Place in the 2. Circle class season 2. In addition to Peter Wolf, Jens Schindler, Rene Heinrich, Jonas Goetz, Tobias Schindler, Mohammand Jamshid Mohmand and Dirk Fischer regularly appeared on the record.
But it is not only in the adult sector that we can report successes. Thanks to the voluntary commitment of our head of department, Jens Schindlers, a very good young talent has been achieved in recent years and a good basis has been built up. In the meantime, up to 10 children and adolescents regularly train in the department. The training hours are Mondays and Thursdays from 18:00 to 20:00 in the gym on Altenburger Straße. Interested parties are welcome to stop by for a ‘trial training’ and ignite their passion for table tennis.
