2023 National Championships of Athletes in Dresden

On the weekend of 23-25 June 2023, this year's National Championships of Athletes took place in Dresden. This year, three of our Lunzenau athletes took part. Benny Klauß started in the age group M14 in a total of 4 disciplines. In the shot, he showed a fantastic performance with 11.40 meters, which in the end was enough for 4th place and even qualified him for the Central German Championships. In the sprint, he showed a good performance with 12.72 seconds one day later, which in the end was enough for a place in the midfield. In the high jump he landed with a skipped height of 1.50 meters at the end on the 6th place. Unfortunately, due to the bad weather, the discus was postponed from Friday to Sunday, which is why he was no longer able to participate.

Gina Klauß competed in the age group W15 in a total of 3 disciplines. With a new personal best of 21.80 meters, she reached 6th place in the discus throw on Friday. In the high jump she failed on Saturday only very narrowly at the 1.40 meters, which unfortunately makes it here only for the 9. There was enough space. In the javelin throw, it somehow didn't want to work properly this time. With a width of 30.75 meters, it was enough for fifth place in the end, but there would have been much more in it.

In the age group WJU18 we were represented by Hannah Dörn. In the shot, the weather conditions on Friday were unfortunately so bad that she could not show her actual performances and in the end became only 9. Even in the javelin throw, which then took place on Sunday, it simply did not want to work, which in the end made it only the 10th place. Only in the discus it went very well. With a new personal best of 23.72 metres, she finished fifth here at the end.

Congratulations to all for the performances shown.
