Successful thrower day for our athletes in Geringswalde
On 10.09.2022, the district-open Werfertag took place in Geringswalde. A total of four Lunzenau athletes took part. Diarra Kaszuba started in the WU14 in a shot. It was a good performance, it was her very first ball-shock competition. Benny Klauß started in the MU14 in three disciplines. In the shot, he was able to achieve a new best with 9.77 meters. In the discus and also in the javelin throw, he showed an acceptable performance despite his injured knee. Gina Klauß also started in all three disciplines at WU16. Both in the spear with 27.23 meters and in the discus with 20.40 meters she achieved new best performances. Only in the shot shot it was not quite enough for that. Hannah Dörn was then the fourth in the league and started, like Gina, also in the WU16 in shotshots and spears. In the spear, she achieved a new best with 26.46 meters. She also showed her skills in the shot, but unfortunately it was not enough for a new best performance.

34. Children's and Youth Games Dresden
A week later, the next competition took place in Dresden. This time we were also represented by four athletes. Benny Klauß started in the long jump, sprint and ball throw. Unfortunately, in really bad weather conditions, he could not show his best performance in the long jump, but in the end it was still enough for the 3. Place. In the ball throw, however, he was able to show his skills and finished 1st with 40.00 meters. Place. In the sprint, despite the bad weather, he even achieved a new best with 10.24 seconds and thus also reached the 1. Place. Amelie Zschache showed a good performance in the sprint, which was enough for a place in the midfield. Gina Klauß started in the javelin throw and in the sprint. In both disciplines, she achieved a new best performance, which in the spear to the 2. Place led. In the sprint, she narrowly missed the podium and ended up on the 4th place. Place. Only five hundredths were missing for a better placement. Hannah Dörn, the fourth in the league, started in the javelin throw and reached with a new best performance of 28.00 meters the 3. Place.
