Now we can start – the new construction of our multifunctional building has been sealed – our sports club Fortschritt Lunzenau has finally received the grant decision!
For almost a year and a half, working towards turning an idea into a concrete project, always hoping and approvingly taking note of the positive signs, radiating optimism with energetic and expert support, we were full of expectation for the day of the handover of the grant notice.
This day should still be this year, specifically at the end of November. ‘Excited and joyful’, we took up the transmission of the handover date. On 28.11.2020, the Saxon Minister for Regional Development Thomas Schmidt visited us repeatedly in our living room in the stadium on Rochlitzer Straße.

In the 70's. Year of our existence, twice a minister visits us and the idea of a multifunctional building can actually be put into action and become a reality with the planned completion in 2022.
The joy and pride could be seen on the face of our President Tommy Haeder and his Vice-President Andreas Rosin, when they were able to receive the funding decision of the Free State of Saxony for more than 547,000 euros from the hands of the Minister, of course with the necessary distance. What a moving moment.
This date was enhanced by the presence of our mayor Ronny Hoffmann. As a member of the club, he was visibly fond of this appointment.
As mayor and representative of the city, he was pleased with us to overcome this important hurdle, he spoke about the upgrading of our city as such and correctly mentioned the financial share of the city in the amount of 250,000 euros.
Thus, the contribution of the district of Mittelsachsen in the amount of at least 75,000 euros should not remain unmentioned at this point.
But in order to handle the 1.1 million expensive project in total, our association is also in demand. The raising of own resources is secured and organised.

Therefore, we cannot say ‘thank you’ often enough:
- To our club members who ensure the survival of our club in times of uncertainty due to the coronavirus.
- To our association members, who also ensure the overall financing of our multifunctional building with their additional financial contribution.
- To those particularly Emsigen, such as our ‘Grillteam’, who run the barbecue stand at Kaufland Burgstädt on a voluntary basis.
- To private individuals who help to secure the financial framework with donations.
- To our sponsors, supporters and friends who will continue to support us in 2020% remained loyal (newly added is the pharmacy Lunzenau).
- To the expert helpers such as Fritz Sterlemann (without him the successful application would certainly not have succeeded).
- To the city of Lunzenau.
- To the district of Mittelsachsen.
- To the Free State of Saxony.
- To the board of our sports club.
When we were able to observe how the old workshop building was cleared out during the handover and thus the preparations for the necessary demolition were in full swing, we were sure:
The construction of our multifunctional building actually starts in 2020!
This will be visible to all at the latest at the beginning of the demolition work – and this later this year. With the implementation of our idea, we will build a future-oriented and modern building and thus provide proof of a meaningful, effective and association-related use of financial resources.
In doing so, we know:
- Many tasks are still to be done
- Unexpected challenges must be mastered
- We have not yet discussed the contingencies of life.
