Despite the coronavirus crisis, the SVFL is active!
In the last issue of the ‘Lunzenauer Nachrichten’, under the heading ‘Coronavirus has also kept our sports club under full control!’, we would like to report today on the various activities that have nevertheless been undertaken.
In less than a week, we have managed to organize the sports operation, which has been partially possible since 4 May 2020 under special conditions.
A board meeting with the department heads was planned and carried out at short notice in compliance with the hygiene and distance regulations. The official requirements, such as the creation of attendance lists and instruction and instruction documents as well as the attachment of disinfection options and hygiene tips in the sports facilities implemented.
As a result, we were not only fast, but also one of the few clubs that took up this challenge in a wide environment.
It was also a particular advantage that our ‘Stadion an der Rochlitzer Straße’ can present itself as a piece of jewellery at the moment. We were prepared! Thanks to the tireless helpers in the ‘Greenkeeper team’, not only the lawn is a real ‘eye-catcher’.
Thanks to the diligent sports enthusiasts, the marquee for the terrace could be purchased and already set up. Thanks to the participants in the work assignments, the preparation for the construction of the ball catching net system has been completed and the spring planting with flowers in the club colors is carried out. Thanks to Blumenhaus Böhme for their support and all other sponsors who remain loyal to us even in these difficult times. In addition, we are currently in discussions with new potential partners. Here, too, we were active and sent a letter to our companions. Under the heading ‘Give and Take’, we as an association have offered our support in various areas.
Planned events – such as our 70th anniversary – continue to be prepared on a smaller scale or have been postponed to September, like ‘Meyer meets Geyer’.
We are also working intensively on the creation of our club chronicle. We are particularly pleased about the ever-growing circle of our club members from the first hour, who contribute to the success of the project with active cooperation.
A further milestone was reached in the planned new construction of the multifunctional building. At the end of April we received the building permit. For the start of construction planned in autumn, ‘only’ the positive funding notice and the additional burden to be decided on the project for our association members are now missing. However, we are optimistic and hopeful that the official groundbreaking ceremony will take place this year.

We will use these and other dates and activities wherever possible to present ourselves as an integral part of public life in our city, to consolidate this public life and to be a worthy host in the process.
We look forward to it!
Stay healthy.
