Land cycle in Lunzenau ...

Hardly anyone would have thought it possible, because Rosswein was intended as the venue for the annual running spectacle, which takes place on the last Saturday in the month of April. For well-known reasons, there were many venues this year and by far the team ran individually but together, as we did here in Lunzenau.

On Wednesday 6 May 2020, the ‘Progress Runners’ met to cover the 1.5 km, 3 km and 5 km routes respectively in the line-up of Tommy Haeder, Frank Lukasch and Axel Putzschke. With their time of 51 minutes and 40 seconds (8:30 minutes, 18:15 minutes and 24:55 minutes), they left with their 147. Place in the overall standings, after all, still 80 seasons behind.

Not only the ‘Old Gentlemen’ dared to start the ‘Virtual Land Cycle’, but also our youngest ones competed the following Friday as ‘Lunzenauer FlizzyRennMäuse’ with Elissa Oelsner, Michelle Ebert and Saskia Vogt in the Jg. 2013 and later in the ‘mini-rural cycle – virtual’. In a time of 6:38.9 minutes, the three each covered 400 m individually due to the distance and occupied a peak among the eight ‘Bambini kindergarten relays’. 3. Place.

In the second evaluation of the ‘mini-rural run – virtual’, the elementary school relays (Jg. 2009 to 2012), our club was even able to bring two seasons to the start. For the ‘Lunzenauer Sternschnuppen’, three of our girls (Laura Keyßelt, Josephine Haneck and Pia Hartzendorf all Jg. 2011 and 2012) and reached a great 18th place in the 21-season field of participants. Place. Even if everyone had to complete their route individually and super individual times were achieved, we will have to put the team idea into practice in the future.

This was better achieved by the ‘Fast Lightnings from Lunzenau’, with Jonatan Pönitz, the ‘Family’ team of the siblings Vanessa and Jason Hübner completing. The boys (both Jg. 2009) came with the likewise only 9-year-old Vanessa in the same rating as excellent 15th in the finish.

We were all winners; In the most beautiful sunshine we had a moving afternoon and in an unusual event a unique start into hopefully more movement-friendly times.

Many thanks to the participants who represented our club in the district, made the city the venue and the organizer, who made and implemented an interesting offer with creativity in a difficult time.

Congratulations to everyone who had fun in the action!
