Coronavirus also keeps our sports club under full control!
The corona pandemic makes it difficult for the whole of society, organised sports and thus also our sports club to create. The challenges we face through no fault of our own through the Corona Protection Regulation are great:
Events, competitions, training sessions and courses prepared by long-term participants had to be cancelled or postponed. Our sponsors are threatened even in their existence and gastronomy must not take place. As an association, this means that we lose considerable revenue, while the expenditure on fixed operating costs continues to run. That's why we need your support. Even if no training and competition operation can take place until at least 04.05.2020, We hope that all members of the association will remain loyal and above all healthy and thus ensure the existence of our association. Especially in the difficult times, we are even more pleased when other people join our SVFL - whether in one of our numerous sports groups or as supporters of our fan department. At the same time, we call on everyone to support our local partners and sponsors. Our great desire is to emerge stronger from this crisis together. In the coming days, we will also launch an action with the help of which we want to cushion the resulting financial gaps. You can find out more about our association channels. Our members are happy to support you on a voluntary basis during this difficult time.
The following events had to be cancelled or postponed so far:
- 04.04.2020 Spring cleaning cancelled
- 25.04.2020 1.Table tennis tournament postponed to autumn 2020
- 29.04.2020 "Meyer meets Geyer" postponed to September 2020
- 09.-10.05.2020 Exit to Libochovice postponed to 2021
- 12.06.-12.07.2020 Public Viewing European Football Championship postponed to 2021
If further events have to be cancelled or postponed, we will inform you in good time via our association channels.
The launch of our new Nordic Walking and Belly-Leg-Po sports groups, scheduled for the end of April, will also be postponed. However, registrations can still be made without obligation. As soon as a start of the training groups is foreseeable, we will communicate this accordingly in good time.
Despite these current massive restrictions and uncertainty about how things will continue in the coming weeks, the planning and work for our two major projects on the sports field continues intensively. The construction of the new ball fishing net in the direction of Erich-Weinert-Straße is scheduled to begin in May and will be completed if possible. The total cost of the subsidised measure amounts to just under €26,500. For the new construction of our multifunctional building planned from autumn, we are currently waiting for the approval of the funding. For the newly built spectator terrace last year, a marquee was purchased, which is now intended as a permanent canopy to protect the fans from wind and rain in bad weather. The work on our lawn is also currently in full swing, so that our athletes can use a top-maintained playing area after the forced break. After intensive consultation and coordination between the board and the city administration, the planning of our celebration – on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the association at the beginning of September – is also progressing.
We hope to be able to return to ‘normality’ as soon as possible and look forward to any support. Let's stick together and overcome this crisis together. We wish you a lot of strength, perseverance and, of course, above all: It's health!
